Role Description

Are you interested in working for one of Canada’s most awarded distilleries and makers of the top-selling Georgian Bay Gin Smash? Georgian Bay Spirit Co is currently looking for a Field Sales Manager, BC to lead our team of Sales Representatives in the province. You will lead a team who represents our rapidly expanding portfolio of spirits and top-selling craft cocktails-in-a-can such as Gin Smash, Cranberry Gin Smash and Smashed Soda! Georgian Bay Spirit Co. is one of the fastest growing craft spirits & RTD producers within the beverage alcohol space. While reporting to the Director of Sales – Western Canada, the Field Sales Manager will be a key member of our commercial leadership team.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Provincial Sales Leadership

  • Coaching; on the road and in market with the sales team
  • Understanding the nuances of all selling channels in the province
  • Recognizing and leveraging the avenues for growth
  • Effectively leveraging knowledge of industry to outline strategic plan
  • Support ideation of innovation pipeline in parallel to long term plan
  • Provincial budget management; effectively utilizing spend to grow the business
  • Compiling in depth business reviews (Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly)
  • Responsible for setting the bar on in-store Execution Excellence
  • Managing key LRS customers

Pricing 

  • Understand the regional deadlines and regulations on taxation; know how to effectively implement to drive profit
  • Define regional pricing strategy (competitive as well) and ensure ongoing compliance in market

Supply/Logistics

  • Responsible for contributing to the creation of an accurate regional forecast to feed production/operations
  • Review in market opportunities to capitalize on volume
  • Inventory management

Business Development

  • Identify new opportunities in British Columbia, as it relates to GBSC long-term goals
  • Leverage insights gathered from analyzing monthly sales data, highlighting White Space opportunity for growth

  • Any other duties as assigned/required 

What do you need:

  • Minimum 5 years sales or adjacent experience. Ideally 3+ years in the beverage alcohol industry
  • Completed bachelor’s degree
  • Ideally possess a strong track record of developing successful brands in the marketplace and hitting sales targets
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to develop solid financial plans and manage budgets
  • Strong package design understanding and ability to lead design resources and execution
  • Ability to build strong business relationships
  • Self-starter that is highly motivated and able to work collaboratively – able to consistently create and meet deadlines with accurate results
  • Passion for the industry
  • Strong intuitive thinking skills which think beyond the task at hand
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent ability to interact with Senior Management and customers
  • Working knowledge of marketing research
  • Bonus: Experience leading a team, leadership ability, having mentored, and grown a team. Have both a visionary / strategic and on the ground team leadership skillset
  • Bonus: Experience industry with government liquor stores, or licensed private outlets, including specialty wine stores.
