Dubbed Canada’s Best Vodka two years in a row by the The London Spirits Competition and recognized by Forbes as one of the top 10 vodkas in the world by the International Wine and Spirits Competition, we are looking for a Human Resources Manager to develop and lead our talent strategy as we enter this next phase of growth.
Role Description
Reporting to the President, the Human Resources Manager will manage all areas of the HR function across the organization.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assess current HR practices and turn recommendations into a People Plan that aligns with the strategic business objectives, prioritizing accordingly
- Engage as a strategic advisor in all aspects of HR planning, organization design, policies & procedures, performance management, resource planning, employee retention & engagement, diversity & inclusion, and leadership development
- Manage the recruitment function and strategy, leading full-cycle recruitment for open positions and also identifying future potential talent
- Research and propose a total rewards framework, including salary ranges, short-term and long-term incentives, group benefits, and other intangible perks
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable provincial requirements
- Partner closely with leaders throughout the organization to provide coaching and guidance in all employee relation initiatives
- Work with our broker to manage the Group Health and Dental benefits plan, including renewals and market comparisons
- Oversee provincial Health & Safety insurance board accounts
What do you need:
- A degree or diploma in Human Resources Management, or similar business degree
- 7+ years of experience working in broad Generalist roles in a small/mid-sized business or where tasks vary widely
- Experience working with an executive team, reporting to the President/CEO
- Sound knowledge of employment legislation, across all jurisdictions in Canada, and HR best practices
- Proven success at stakeholder management and communication
- Ability to juggle many balls but also prioritize work
- Experience maintaining organization structure, job descriptions and job evaluation framework
- Proven experience in creating performance management programs, including talent identification/segmentation processes, development plans, career mapping, and succession planning
- Experience creating and maintaining a compensation strategy, with a focus on total rewards
- Ability to make the connection between business strategy and People priorities
