Role Description


The Key Accounts Manager – Western Canada will be a critical member of the Georgian Bay Spirit Co Commercial team. You will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of duties, most importantly, maximizing our sales opportunities with our key customers. You will be responsible for building and maintaining positive working relationships with category buyers as well as supply chain & marketing/merchandising departments across each province, all while working cross-departmentally within GBSC on planning, execution, & logistics. The Key Accounts Manager will ultimately work towards securing new listings, driving volume, and growing the Georgian Bay portfolio/market share in BC, AB, SK & MB.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Meeting regularly with key decision makers/buyers of various liquor boards and key accounts to review our performance & uncover opportunities to accelerate sales/grow our portfolio.
  • Act as the liaison between our key customers and Georgian Bay Spirit Co
  • Manage accurate and updated budgets as well as planning for full year pricing/LTO/Air Miles/Scene Points strategy for each account.
  • Assist with managing all liquor board and chain application deadlines
  • Responsible for presenting innovation proposals, large retail programs, etc to key customers
  • Collaborating with our customers to develop competitive & exciting retail programs & offers
  • Portfolio management from province to province
  • Managing the customer innovation application process from start to finish
  • Monitoring inventory levels, working to reduce OOS days and ensuring adequate stock for large level retail programs
  • Developing monthly sales reports to recap sales trends, current events, wins, challenges, program success, new listings, etc.
  • Work closely alongside the marketing, sales, supply & analytics teams to identify and pursue opportunities for the business
  • Generate/update sales PowerPoint presentations for various customers as well as for internal purposes
  • Represent the company at key customer events/activities and trade days

What You’ll Need:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience within the alcohol industry working with Western Canada liquor boards & regional chain accounts
  • Proficiency with analyzing sales data, forecasts & trends to provide insights 
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent time-management skills: able to multi-task, manage multiple projects and deadlines, and re-prioritize as things change
  • Strong sense of ownership for tasks and able to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An entrepreneurial spirit – strong desire to “roll up your sleeves” and get involved
  • Quick learner, detail oriented
